When printing for CD covers, the front page of the insert usually doubles up as the front cover of the CD. You can choose from a flat insert (a cover and one extra page on the reverse) an insert with one fold (this is one longer piece of paper folded in half to make a front cover, two inside pages and a back page) and a two fold insert (an extra-long sheet, roll folded to make a front cover, three inside pages and two backside pages).

Top tip! To get the full package for your CD case, we recommend ordering a cover/insert and a back cover. If you want to finish the look, add a printed CD label to your order!

We print and send our CD and DVD labels kiss-cut on an A4 sheet. You’ll get three labels on one sheet, ready to peel and stick to your disks.

DVD covers are usually inserted from the top edge of the flat, open case; when the case is closed, this one sheet will wrap around the full outside of your case to make up the front cover, spine and back cover.

It’s a great idea to include your contact details or any additional information to your finished DVD product; you can do this by printing a case insert to go with your cover wrap. You can choose from a flat insert, a folded insert with four pages or a folded insert with six pages.

If you select single-sided for your greeting card, it means that we will print the front and back cover of your card, but not the inside. This is because the term ‘printed sides’ always refers to the document in its flat, unfolded form.

If you were to take a greeting card and open it up, you can see that one side of the sheet of paper forms the front and back of the card and the other side forms the inside of your card. If you select ‘double-sided’ for your printing, we’ll print the front and back of your card and something on the inside.

Perfect binding is the same kind of document binding you can find in very thick, glossy magazines—our finishing team will take the left-hand edge of your document and rough it with a blade. This edge is coated with hot glue, which clings to the roughed pages. The look is finished by placing the cover over the glue and allowing it to set. This kind of brochure finishing is ideal for larger documents, ranging from 20 to 240 pages.

Some people like to post their cards and need space to write a message and the address. If you want one of these backs with your card, you can find a template at the bottom of the page— you’ll be able to see where everything needs to go in order to get the results you want.

Remember! If you want to write on the back of your card, it is best to choose single-sided lamination so the front stays protected and the back is still easy to write on.

Although our white gloss paper is not waterproof, our silver gloss paper is, so you can rest assured that they’ll stay pristine even if you have an accidental spill.

We print round stickers kiss-cut on an A4 sheet; this means that they have been cut out with a light incision made through the self-adhesive paper but not the backing, so you can peel them off and stick them easily.

Saddle stitching is one of the best kinds of binding to use for smaller brochures and booklets. To create an A5 saddle stitched brochure, we would take a sheet twice the size (A4) print it up and fold it down the middle. To bind the pages together we’ll run strong staples up the centre fold to make the finished brochure. We always recommend this kind of binding for brochures of 8 to 40 pages.

The term ‘creep’ is used by printers to describe what happens to a large stack of pages all folded together. The outer pages appear shorter as they wrap around the large inner bulk, making the inner pages stick out slightly. To stop creep making your documents look untidy, we trim the excess away to give a nice, straight document edge. Anything that is printed over this trim line, like text or page numbers, will be cut away, so be sure to keep in from the edges when setting up your files.

We print our stickers on white or silver self-adhesive paper which has a silky, shiny finish, very similar to our gloss paper—we wouldn’t consider it to be ‘high gloss’, as it is far more readable and subtle in appearance.

Yes! We offer a selection of 10 envelopes in different stocks and sizes to match your cards. You can add them to your order along with other extras like cellophane bags so your cards are ready to package on arrival. If you really want to complete the look, we recommend printing your own square or round stickers to pop on the packaging.

Wiro binding is the name we give documents which have been secured with a wire spiral. We gather together all the document pages, punch holes down the binding edge and slip the strong wire spine into the holes before snapping them closed. Your printed pages will be able to move around the spine easily and your document will stay open and flat without any fuss. This type of binding is best for documents of around 4 to 160 pages.

All our framed prints are supplied with the appropriate hanging accessories for the size and weight of the frame. We use four different types:

For smaller, lighter frames, we use simple screw-in rings set at just the right height for hanging. For slightly heavier frames, we’ll install a standard silver D-ring with a screw to hold it in place. Medium weight frames will come supplied with a D-ring attached with two screws and large or heavy frames come with a three screw D-ring.

We’ll always make sure that you get just the right hanging accessories for your frame size and weight, complete with strong hanging cord.

Canvas prints that are finished edge to edge or frame wrapped will come fitted with a square hanger, so they’re ready to display right from the box. Square hangers have strong metal teeth to grab wall fastenings and allow the canvas covered frame to fit flush against the wall.
